A courtesy vehicle will collect you from your Broome accommodation at approximately 1:30pm and transfer you to MV Ocean Dream for a 3:00pm departure. Your Kimberley Wilderness journey will begin with a refreshing drink as we cruise past Cable Beach, famous for its aquamarine water, camels and beautiful sunsets. Sit back and relax as you enjoy your first gourmet dining experience and meet your fellow passengers. The vessel will continue to steam north along the Dampier Peninsula and past Cape Leveque as you sleep through the night.
Silica Beach, a favoured destination located on Hidden Island which forms part of the 800 islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago. Named after the high content of Silica in the sand, the beach is a lovely place to swim and stretch your legs. Later, enjoy an expedition up Crocodile Creek and a freshwater swim in a spring fed waterhole. Anchorage overnight in one of the many beautiful creeks.
The Horizontal Falls are a truly remarkable natural wonders of the Kimberley. Guests have the option of taking a fast boat ride through the falls. We take a tender vessel excursion up Cyclone Creek to learn the history of the area and explore the incredible rock formations created billions of years ago. We have the opportunity to view some of the flora and fauna unique to the Kimberley region before finishing the day with another gourmet feast provided by our chef.
The morning is spent exploring the Doubtful Bay and the incredible spectacle of Montgomery Reef. Witness as 400 square kilometres of coral reef appears to rise out of the water on the falling tide, creating hundreds of cascading waterfalls as the water rushes off the reef. The reef attracts an abundance of marine life including turtles, manta rays, dugongs, dolphins, crabs and fish. Delicious canapes and drinks on the bow of Ocean Dream will top off an incredible day of adventure with a sunset you will never forget.
Fishing enthusiasts will delight in the day’s activities as the hunt for the elusive Barramundi is on. Have a go at catching a Barra or try your luck in the mangroves for some mud crabs. Later on, the crew will take you on a tender vessel excursion up Red Cone Creek for a refreshing dip at the beautiful Ruby Falls, a picturesque spot for scenic photography. Back on the vessel, the chef will prepare all freshly caught fish for a sensational seafood feast on Ocean Dream.
Explore the Slate Islands, the sanctuary home to a myriad of wildlife species. Enjoy a beach swim and take a walk around the incredible rock formations whilst on the lookout for turtle tracks. Spend the afternoon discovering Sheep Island, and hear the history behind the failed white settlement at Camden Harbour in 1864. Afterwards, we head back to the vessel to relax and enjoy delicious canapes and pre-dinner drinks while we steam into the St George Basin.
Entering the Prince Regent River in the morning, it’s time to put your bathers on as Ocean Dream is manoeuvred directly under the Kings Cascade Falls. Feel the power of the falls from the bow of the vessel before embarking on a moderate climb up to the top of the falls for a refreshing swim in the spectacular Cascade Pool. Alternatively, join a tender excursion upriver to the scenic “amphitheatre” falls, all the while keeping a look out for fascinating wildlife.
Start the day with a hearty breakfast onboard before we head off to Careening Bay and the famous Mermaid Boab tree. Discover the history behind Lieutenant Phillip Parker King’s quest to accurately chart the Kimberley coast. Spend the afternoon fishing before we’re back on board Ocean Dream and ready to steam into the mighty Hunter River.
Enjoy one last delicious breakfast and say your final goodbyes as you depart Ocean Dream from the onboard helideck. The pilot will take you on a scenic helicopter flight over the multi-tiered Mitchell Falls before landing on the plateau. From Mitchell Plateau, you will board a light aircraft for the flight back to Broome. Arriving approximately 4:00pm, a coach transfer will take you to your Broome accommodation. Ocean Dream Charters recommends staying overnight in Broome in case of any unforeseen delays.

On the day you embark on your Kimberley cruise adventure, our transfer coach will pick up our guests from their hotel accommodation in
Broome from 1:30pm and after a short drive, we arrive at Gantheaume Point. It’s just a quick tender ride across the bay to the awaiting Ocean
Dream and once onboard, you can unpack, meet your fellow guests and crew, and enjoy a welcome aboard drink as you start your cruise with a magnificent sunset over Cable Beach.

Experience the beauty of Bigge Island which lies approximately 6 kilometres of the coast in the Bonaparte Archipelago. This weathered sandstone island is surrounded by reef filed bays and is home to several endangered and rare mammals. It is also a significant Indigenous rock
art site for the Wunambal Gaambera people.
If the tides are favourable, there will be an early morning oyster harvest on the exposed rocks of Swift Bay. Guests will then have the option of a helicopter fight over the Mitchell Falls, or a scenic tender vessel excursion. The afternoon is spent exploring the cultural signifcance of
Swift Bay that was once an important meeting place for the Indigenous people.
If you haven’t seen a crocodile yet then you will more than likely encounter one or two on the mighty Mitchell River. A fantastic river for fishing and exploring the hundreds of creeks that form along the mangrove forests as the tide falls. The area is alive with wildlife making for exciting scenic excursions and the afternoon is spent at the beautiful Surveyor’s Pool for
a bush walk and swim.
Join a tender vessel excursion out to Jar Island to explore the fascinating Gwion Gwion art (Bradshaw Art). Unique to the Kimberley region, the fascinating art is recorded to be over 17,000 years old, with recognisable diferences in style and meaning. In the afternoon, there will be an
opportunity to take a walk to the crash site of DC3 aircraft which crashed in 1942, located on the eastern side of Vansittart Bay.
Located near Cape Londonderry, today we experience two unique and impressive falls of the north Kimberley. Glycosmis Falls, complete with two thundering streams of water pouring of the Cliff face into the sea is well worth a visit and if time permits and tides are right, we can explore the area for Gwion Gwion Art. Barra Falls, equally as impressive and only accessible by helicopter or smaller vessels, is a stunning location for a hike and freshwater swim.
We visit the historically significant Koolama Bay where the 1942 MV Koolama bombing attack by Japanese air raids occurred. Swim in the afternoon in a beautiful waterhole at the site where the MV Koolama bombing survivors camped.
At high tide, we cross the sandbars of the King George River and make our way up to the falls. It’s an enticing welcome to one of the Kimberley’s most magnificent natural wonders. The dual waterfall has a vertical drop of over 80m, making it one the tallest waterfalls in Western Australia.
Join a tender vessel excursion to explore the beautiful Berkeley River, with towering gorges, waterfalls and sandstone clifs. We discover the
head of this incredible river system and the myriad of animal species that call this place home. Swim in freshwater holes and there is the
opportunity for a spot of fshing.
Following one last breakfast on board, say your final goodbyes to the crew as we disembark from Ocean Dream in Wyndham. Our commentated courtesy coach journey takes approximately 90 minutes to arrive in Kununurra where you can be dropped of at the airport or
your accommodation.
